SEGURA THERAPY
OCD, Anxiety & Trauma Therapy
Compassionate, collaborative therapy grounded in evidence-based care.
Serving Baytown, Mont Belvieu, the Greater Houston Area & across Texas via telehealth.

Reaching out for support is not easy, and the fact that you're here means something in your life is asking for care and attention. I'm really glad you're here.
I'm Christina, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate working under the supervision of Kristin Walker, LPC-S. I have a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston and specialized training in the treatment of trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and OCD.
My values as a therapist are curiosity, respect, collaboration, and unconditional positive regard for your experience, growth, and humanity. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is what allows the evidence-based work that we do to be effective. Therefore, I defer to you as the expert of your experience, and understand that you and your context, and how external systems in our lives might affect context, are part of it too. At the end of the day, we are humans relating to each other in search of deeper understanding and your personal growth. You might enjoy working with me if you appreciate a bit of human realness in your therapeutic space.
I became interested in mental health after my own experiences during Hurricane Harvey -- a personal lesson in how profoundly external events can affect mental health. I also bring lived experience with anxiety and OCD. After benefiting deeply from my own work in therapy, I knew that helping others recognize and interrupt the cycle of anxiety and unhelpful coping behaviors was where I wanted to center my practice.

How I Work
Treatment is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based approaches. I keep each session focused on what is most supportive for you and adjust and tailor treatment plans to your needs as our work evolves.
Evidence-Based Care
Treatment is grounded in a person-centered foundation upon which evidence-based approaches can be most successful. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) most often. The interventions I use are always informed by your needs and what you find most supportive. I also incorporate Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) skills and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills when appropriate.
Compassionate Collaboration
Therapy is personalized, collaborative, and grounded in compassion and clarity. I honor that each client's story is uniquely their own, and every session stays focused on what is most supportive for you.
Freedom & Flexibility
Rather than chasing certainty or reassurance, the work emphasizes increasing tolerance for uncertainty, and for "good enough." In this way, we cultivate resilience, strengthen self-trust, and reconnect with the values that truly matter to you. You deserve to live with more freedom and flexibility in your life so that you experience your present moment with regulation and clarity.

Areas of Specialization
Each client's story is uniquely their own. Explore the areas I specialize in to see how therapy can support you.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD often shows up as intrusive thoughts, urges, images, or doubts that feel pressing and distressing, followed by mental or behavioral compulsions meant to reduce anxiety. This includes excessive Googling, reassurance-seeking, ruminating, checking, or cleaning. While these patterns can feel convincing and overwhelming, they are also highly treatable. I focus on learning to respond differently to intrusive thoughts and gradually reducing compulsive behaviors using ERP and ACT.
“I know this doesn't make sense, but it feels real.”
“I can be completely honest with Christina, which is a rare and invaluable experience. This is truly refreshing in a world where so many therapists feel scripted or impersonal. Christina's calm presence combined with her deep empathy make each interaction meaningful. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking an authentic and compassionate therapist.”

Everything You Need to Know
Your first session is all about getting to know you. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy, your history, and your goals. There's no pressure to dive deep right away. I go at your pace. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting. You just need a place to begin.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD. It involves gradually facing the situations that trigger your obsessions while learning to resist performing compulsions. Rather than chasing certainty or reassurance, the work emphasizes increasing tolerance for uncertainty and strengthening self-trust. I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you reconnect with values that matter to you.
Yes! I see clients in person at my office in Baytown, Texas, and I offer telehealth sessions to anyone located anywhere in Texas. Whether you're in Baytown, Mont Belvieu, Beach City, Liberty, Crosby, Dayton, or the Greater Houston Area, or prefer the convenience of online counseling. Therapy is personalized, collaborative, and grounded in compassion and clarity.
I specialize in OCD, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, trauma, PTSD, and depression. I also provide individual counseling for adults navigating burnout, grief, and major life transitions. I also work with couples experiencing cycles of misunderstanding, emotional reactivity, or disconnection.
I don't accept insurance but can provide a superbill for insurance reimbursements. Individual and couple sessions are $125. I have very limited sliding scale fee slots, as I don't believe ability to pay should be a barrier to mental health care. You can contact me at info@seguratherapy.com or call 936.304.2064.
